This article provides a comprehensive overview of watermelon cultivation practices with a special focus on arid and semi-arid climatic conditions. Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) is a valuable horticultural crop known for its high water content, nutritional value, and economic significance. The article discusses key stages in watermelon farming such as seed selection, soil preparation, planting techniques, irrigation strategies, pest and disease management, and harvesting methods. It also emphasizes the importance of choosing climate-adapted and drought-resistant varieties to ensure higher yields and sustainability in regions with limited water resources. Advanced agricultural technologies such as drip irrigation, organic fertilization, and integrated pest management (IPM) are analyzed as crucial components for successful watermelon production.
