Abstract

Idioms are a fascinating aspect of language that have captivated researchers for centuries. These figurative expressions, deeply rooted in cultural and historical contexts, present unique challenges and opportunities for linguistic analysis. In this scientific article, we delve into the intricate world of idioms, examining their structure, functions, and underlying cognitive processes. Through a multidisciplinary approach encompassing linguistics, psychology, and neuroscience, we aim to unravel the mysteries of idiomatic language, shedding light on their semantic and pragmatic mechanisms. Our findings provide valuable insights into the human capacity for metaphorical thinking and the role of idioms in communication and cognition.
